EAST VILLAGE — Urban renewal, sustainability and bicycle activism are just a few of the topics that will be discussed in an upcoming outdoor film series in community gardens across the neighborhood.

I (HEART)NRCHY: Advocacy & Anarchy Shaping a City,” will focus on the city’s history of social activism for eight nights starting on Aug. 1, the Museum of Reclaimed Urban Space, which is organizing the series, announced.

Each night, the museum — which focuses on the neighborhood's grassroots activism — will partner with local organizations to show films based on particular themes such as “Work & Rebellion” and “Reviewing Renewal.”

“We hope that these films will help draw a broader picture of what the neighborhood was and what it is today and why so many people are resistant to the changes that make it look like any other part of New York or any other part of the country,” said Sheila Jamison, a volunteer community liaison for the museum.

All-inclusive passes are currently on sale for $20 online or tickets for individual screenings are $5 suggested donation and can be purchased by visiting the Museum of Reclaimed Urban Space at 155 Avenue C.
