DITMARS — A 21-year-old woman was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver as she was crossing a street near Astoria Park early Saturday, according to the NYPD.
Betty Jean Dibiasio was crossing Ditmars Boulevard at 19th Street at 12:30 a.m. when she was struck by a car that was headed west on the boulevard, police said.
The driver of the car fled the scene, according to police. Dibiasio was taken to Elmhurst Hospital with severe head trauma and was pronounced dead, the NYPD said.
Police are still looking for the driver and there have been no arrests.
