ASTORIA — Popular neighborhood eatery Queens Kickshaw is getting in the summer spirit with the launch of a new ice cream cart that'll serve up cool treats outside the restaurant, according to the owner.

Known for its craft beers and grilled cheese sandwiches, the eatery will start serving homemade ice cream starting this weekend, with flavors dreamed up by chef Kenji Hurlburt — including espresso, matcha and strawberry yuzu (a citrus fruit).

Future flavors will be red bean, pistachio, orange creamsicle and choco-churro stout, according to owner Jennifer Lim. There will also be vegan options of passion fruit and elderflower sorbets.

The ice cream — which will be sold from a cart outside the eatery on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays — is made using cream and milk from farms in the Hudson Valley and eggs from Feather Ridge Farm.

Customers will also be able to order the dessert inside the restaurant, Lim said.

The cart will be outside of Queens Kickshaw 40-17 Broadway every Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
