CHINATOWN — A thief snatched $580 worth of jewelry from a woman’s neck at the Canal Street subway station, police said.

A man in his mid-30s to early 40s ran up to a 26-year-old woman on May 24 at 7:40 p.m. and grabbed a $180 gold chain from her neck before fleeing the station, police said.

Three gold charms hanging from the chain, which were worth $400 altogether, were also stolen, according to the NYPD.

Police also released a surveillance photo of the suspect, who was about 5-foot-6 and 160 pounds and wearing a blue jacket and green hat.

Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
