Williamsburg Woman Who Took Car From JFK Finds $2K in Credit Charges: NYPD

WILLIAMSBURG — A woman who took a black car to Williamsburg from JFK returned home to find that the credit card she used to pay for the ride had nearly $2,700 in unauthorized charges, police said.

The woman, 28, said she was solicited by a man in a black four-door sedan at JFK Airport on June 1 at about 6 p.m., police said. He offered her a flat-rate ride back to her home on Driggs Avenue near Grand Street for $45, police said.

When they arrived at her building, the driver handed her a black box, where she swiped her card and entered her PIN number, police said.

Later, the woman realized that $2,686 in unauthorized charges had been made on the card, police said.

The man was described as about 35 years old, 5-foot-11 and 205 pounds.

No one has been arrested for the incident.

Other notable incidents in the 90th precinct include:

► A man was stabbed in the lower back while walking in Williamsburg last week, police said.

The victim, 18, was on Manhattan Avenue near Varet Street roughly 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17 when a man walked up and stabbed him in the lower back with a knife, police said.

The victim, who said he did not know the man, walked to Woodhull Hospital for help, police said.

There were no arrests.
