QUEENS — Knish Nosh, a longtime Forest Hills knish bakery, is moving to a new location this summer.

The decision is related to a rent increase and the eatery is expected to move after its lease expires in August, sources said.

Knish Nosh, which opened in 1952, is one of the oldest businesses in the neighborhood. It's been located at 100-30 Queens Blvd., on the corner of Queens Boulevard and 67th Road, near Starbucks and the 67th Avenue subway station, for more than a decade, according to the bakery's chef Ana Vasilescu.

In August, the shop will relocate to 98-104 Queens Blvd. in Rego Park, about a block away from its current location, between Cuzco Peru restaurant and a kosher meat market, Vasilescu said.

Vasilescu noted that the new location will be smaller and less prominent, but she was confident that longtime customers will follow the eatery, she said.

According to local historian Michael Perlman, the shop — which in addition to various knishes, also serves soups, salads and dishes such as stuffed cabbage and corned beef — had its first location at 101-02 Queens Blvd. in Forest Hills.
