STAPLETON — A man allegedly slashed a barber in the face with a boxcutter after he asked to use the shop's phone on Saturday, a law enforcement source said.

Marcus Foster, 45, went into the King of Kings Barber Shop, at 556 Bay St., at about 11:30 a.m. and asked to use the phone, the source said.

He got into an argument with a 30-year-old worker inside, then punched the man in the face and slashed him with a boxcutter, causing a 6-inch cut from the victim's ear to cheek, prosecutors said

Foster was charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon at his arraignment, the Staten Island District Attorney's office said. His bail was set at $5,000 and he's due back in court on Friday, according to online court records.

His lawyer did not respond to a request for comment.
