INWOOD — Police have arrested one suspect and are looking for a second for a robbery that took place at the Dyckman Street A train station last month, the NYPD said.

According to police, a 44-year-old woman was restrained and robbed by a man and a woman while she was exiting the station on May 18 at around 9 p.m. The woman knew both of the suspects, police said.

The woman was exiting the station when she noticed the male suspect standing in the mezzanine area. She recognized him as an acquaintance of one of her female friends, police said. The victim then saw that friend standing at the top of the steps, police said.

When the woman reached the top of the staircase, the two suspects grabbed her from behind, covered her eyes and snatched her purse, police said. The suspects then fled the scene.

The woman lost her purse, which contained about $1,000 in cash, authorities said.

The woman reported the incident to police on June 10.

Police arrested Guadelupe Balbuena, a 47-year-old Inwood resident, later that same day, they said.

Balbuena was charged with robbery in the second degree and criminal possession of stolen property, police said. She is due back in court on Sept. 10. Her lawyer did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Police are searching for the male suspect who they believe to be Wilfer Gonzalez, authorities said. Police said Gonzalez also uses the name Danny Archer.

Anyone with information in regards to the male suspect is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
