FINANCIAL DISTRICT — Watch "Karate Kid" al fresco, pick up a game of shuffleboard, or hear a DJ spin some music — all for free this summer.

The Downtown Alliance, a business improvement district, is sponsoring a series of "block parties" that will bring a host of free outdoor events, along with drinks and food trucks, to several blocks along Water Street. The events are free, though the food and booze you'll have to pay for.

The "Game On!" events — scheduled for four dates: June 17, July 8, August 12 and Sept. 9 — will bring activities including gratis movies to the Elevated Acre and outdoor games like shuffleboard, cornhole and a "giant" game of Jenga.

Also on tap — Kill Screen, a video game arts and culture company, best known for their Arcade at the Museum of Modern Art, will be creating a unique gaming experience for visitors.

Events start at 5 p.m. and run along Water Street, from Wall Street to Old Slip. Live music kicks off at 5 p.m. on Water and Gouveneur Lane. Movies, which include "White Men Can't Jump," "Rudy," and "Karate Kid" begin at 8:30 p.m., on the Elevated Acre.

The Alliance sponsored similar events last summer.

For the schedule, and locations of activities, head to the Game On! website.
