GRYMES HILL — Police busted a man for driving an ATV the wrong way on a Staten Island Street during rush hour on Monday, prosecutors said.

The 30-year-old man was driving a 2000 Yamaha Blaster 200 ATV on the wrong side of the one-way Hillside Avenue at about 6:15 p.m., causing other cars to swerve to avoid hitting him, prosecutors said.

After arresting him, police found that the ride's bumpers, handle bar pads and hand guards had been reported missing, prosecutors said.

The man was charged with reckless driving, unauthorized use of a vehicle, criminal possession of stolen property, auto stripping and criminal mischief at his arraignment, according to the Staten Island District Attorney's office.

He was released without bail and is due back in court on July 28, according to online court records.

His lawyer could not immediately be reached for comment.
