MOTT HAVEN — Two robbers armed with a gun and a crowbar stole roughly $1,000 from a South Bronx gas station early Sunday morning, police said.

The thieves entered the Shell Gas Station at 2525 Third Ave. at approximately 3:30 a.m., and one of the suspects fired a round into the ground while pushing down an employee, according to the NYPD.

The second suspect stood near the entrance with his crowbar, and the man with the gun snatched the cash register, which contained nearly $1,000, police said.

Video from the scene shows one of the suspects pointing his gun at the counter, grabbing the cash register drawer and walking out of the shop, pointing his gun at the worker lying on the floor as he leaves.

Both suspects are described as men between 160 and 170 pounds who stand about 5 feet 8 or 9 inches tall.

Anyone with information about this robbery is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS. The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers Website at www.nypdcrimestoppers.com or texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES), then entering TIP577.
