17 Subway Lines Slated for Service Changes This Weekend

MIDTOWN — The weekend is almost upon us, which means the inevitable slew of subway service changes. On the bright side for Brooklyn and Queens residents, both the L and 7 lines will run to and from Manhattan.

Here is your breakdown:

1 Line: Downtown trains will run express from 14th Street to Chambers Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

2 Line: Downtown trains will run express from 14th Street to Chambers Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6:30 a.m. Sunday and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

3 Line: Service will be suspended in both directions between Crown Heights-Utica Avenue and New Lots Avenue from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Free shuttle buses will provide alternate service.

Trains are skipping Rockaway Avenue and Van Siclen Avenue in both directions at all times until late September 2015. Free shuttle bus service will be provided.

4 Line: Service will be suspended in both directions between Crown Heights-Utica Avenue and New Lots Avenue from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 7:30 a.m. Sunday and from 11:30 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday. Free shuttle buses will provide alternate service.

Trains are skipping Rockaway Avenue and Van Siclen Avenue in both directions until late September.

Downtown trains are also skipping 103rd Street until September.

5 Line: Service will be suspended in both directions between Eastchester-Dyre Avenue and East 180th Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. Free shuttle buses will provide alternate service.

6 Line: Uptown trains will run express from Parkchester to Pelham Bay Park from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday.

Downtown trains will run express from Parkchester to Hunts Point Avenue from 6:45 a.m. Saturday to 7 p.m. Sunday.

Downtown trains are also are skipping 103rd Street until September 2015.

7 Line: Manhattan-bound trains will run express form Mets-Willets Point to Queensboro Plaza from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

For service to local stops, riders can take a train to Junction Boulevard, 61st Street-Woodside or Queensboro Plaza and transfer to a Flushing-bound 7 train.

For service to Manhattan from local stops, riders can take a Flushing-bound 7 and transfer at an express stop.

A Line: Uptown trains will run express form 59th Street-Columbus Circle to 125th Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6:30 a.m. Sunday and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Uptown trains will run local from Canal Street to 59th Street-Columbus Circle from 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Far Rockaway-Ozone Park-Lefferts Boulevard-bound trains will skip Rockaway Boulevard at all times until Summer 2015. 

For service to this station, take a Far Rockaway-bound A train to Aqueduct-North Conduit Avenue or a Lefferts Boulevard-bound A train to 104th Street and transfer to a Brooklyn-bound A train. 

For service from this station, take a Brooklyn-bound A train to 88th Street and transfer to Far Rockaway or Lefferts Boulevard-bound A.

C Line: Uptown trains will run express from 59th Street-Columbus Circle to 125th Street from 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Downtown trains will skip 50th Street, 23rd Street and Spring Street from 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. For Service to and from these stations riders can take an E train.

E Line: Jamaica Center-bound trains will run express from Queens Plaza to Roosevelt Avenue from 12:15 a.m. Saturday to 6:30 a.m. Sunday and from 12:15 a.m. to 5 a.m. Monday.

Trains will run local between Forest Hills-71st Avenue and Roosevelt Avenue form 12:30 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday.

D Line: Coney Island-bound trains will run express form Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center to 36th Street in Brooklyn from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6:30 a.m. Sunday and form 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

F Line: Brooklyn-bound trains will be rerouted over the E line from Roosevelt Avenue to West 4th Street and then via the A line from West 4th Street to Jay Street-MetroTech from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

M Line: There will be no service from 5:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. J trains and shuttle buses will provide alternate service.

Shuttle buses will make M line stops between Metropolitan Avenue and Myrtle Avenue. J trains will provide service between Myrtle Avenue and Essex Street.

Trains will run local between Forest Hills-71st Avenue and Roosevelt Avenue from 12:30 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday.

L Line: Service will operate in two sections between Eight Avenue and Broadway Junction and between Broadway Junction and Canarsie-Rockaway Parkway.

Trains between Broadway Junction and Canarsie will run every 24 minutes.

N Line: Coney Island-bound trains will run express from Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center to 59th Street in Brooklyn from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6:30 a.m. Sunday and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Brooklyn-bound trains will skip 49th Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Q Line: Coney Island-bound trains will run express from Prospect Park to Kings Highway from 10:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Brooklyn-bound trains will skip 49th Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6:30 a.m. Sunday and form 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

R Train: Forest Hills-bound trains will run express from Queens Plaza to Roosevelt Avenue from 6:30 a.m. to midnight Saturday and Sunday.

Bay Ridge-95th Street-bound trains will run express from Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center to 59th Street in Brooklyn from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Bay Ridge-95th Street-bound trains will skip 45th Street and 53rd Street and Manhattan-bound trains will stop at 53rd and 45th streets from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6:30 a.m. Sunday and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Brooklyn-bound trains will skip 49th Street from 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
