EAST HARLEM — A routine cab ride on Pleasant Avenue ended up with the driver beaten, robbed and thrown onto the floor by his passengers.

The 34-year-old driver picked up three people on the corner of 125th Street and Lenox Avenue on May 24 shortly before 1 a.m., according to the NYPD.

When they reached Pleasant Avenue and 118th Street, one of the passengers grabbed him by the neck and choked him. Another came around the car and punched the driver in the face.

Then they threw him out of the car into the ground and went through his pockets, police said.

The passengers included two men and one woman. It wasn’t clear which one choked the driver and which one punched him.

The group got away with $300 cash, a wallet and two iPhones — one belonging to the driver and the other to the driver’s brother, police said.
