TRIBECA — Free kayaking is back at the newly-renovated Pier 26 this year.

With more than 200 kayaks in tow, Downtown Boathouse launched its gratis kayaking program from the TriBeCa pier at North Moore Street last weekend.

The all-volunteer organization returned to the renovated pier for their second season back after being displaced for several years to Pier 40 in the West Village, while Pier 26 and its boathouse were being revamped.

Hours for kayaking are 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekends. In July and August, kayaking will run from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on weekdays as well.

Donations are suggested to help fund the organization, but the only requirements are that participants know how to swim and young children are accompanied by a guardian.

The boathouse is also always looking for volunteers — no experience required, according to organizers.

A new restaurant is also slated to make its home in the new, large boathouse on Pier 26. The Hudson River Park Trust, which operates it, hasn’t announced who will be running the waterfront eatery yet.

The Downtown Boathouse runs its season, weather permitting, through October.
