MIDTOWN — More than 100 firefighters responded to a pedicab fire that spread through a Midtown parking garage Friday morning, officials and workers said.

The fire at 17 E. 54th St. started at 10:34 a.m. when a pedicab parked on the ground level started burning and set surrounding pedicabs on fire, according to the FDNY and garage workers.

The fire was under control by 12:05 p.m., the FDNY said.

East 54th Street from 5th to Madison avenues were closed.

Workers said the fire may have started when one of the pedicab batteries exploded.

No injuries were reported in the blaze, officials said.
