CASTLETON CORNERS — A woman was caught driving drunk and swerving through traffic on the Staten Island Expressway while carrying a child in the car, officials said.

Holli Spangler, 30, was driving her 2012 Jeep on the highway at about 12:45 p.m. Saturday when officers saw he swerve her car and speed across three lanes of traffic, prosecutors said.

When police pulled Spangler over, she slurred her words and was unable to walk in a straight line. They also found a 2-year-old child in a car seat in the back of the car, prosecutors said.

Spangler was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, driving while impaired and endangering the welfare of a child, according to the Staten Island District Attorney's office.

She was released without bail and is due back in court on July 16, according to online court records.

Her lawyer did not immediately respond to request for comment.

The two men, who've known each other for years, were arguing outside the 720 Club on May 11 over a girl and then parted ways, a source said. The time of the argument wasn't immediately known.

Then the friends met up later that day outside of 75 Thompson St., and 20-year-old Reuben Iyaji shot at his friend. He missed when his friend ducked out of the way, prosecutors said.

Iyaji was arrested on Friday and charged with attempted assault and criminal possession of a weapon, the DA's office said. His bail was set at $3,500 and he's due back in court on Wednesday.

Iyaji was also arrested in 2014 for reckless endangerment and reckless driving charges, according to court records.
