COURT SQUARE — Brooklyn's Smorgasburg is coming to Queens this summer.

The outdoor food market will expand to a lot in Long Island City featuring some of the borough's best-known eats, including dishes from Jackson Heights' Arepa Lady and Filipino restaurant Papa's Kitchen in Woodside.

"We want it to be a way to experience a ton of what Queens has to offer in one-fell swoop, as well as a jumping-off point for exploring the rest of the borough," Smorgasburg co-founder Eric Demby said in an email. Gothamist first reported the expansion.

Smorgasburg Queens will run Saturdays starting July 11 at Crescent Street and 44th Road, next to M. Wells Steakhouse. Vendors will serve up food inside an empty 10,000-square-foot building and the adjacent outdoor lot, where a music and film festival was held last summer.

It will be the second seasonal outdoor market to launch in the neighborhood in recent years, joining the existing LIC Flea and Food, which takes place on weekends near the waterfront.

Queens food writer Joe DiStefano is helping to curate the market's menu, which will also include Thai noodles and desserts from Plant Love House in Elmhurst and cupcakes from Silk Cakes.

Organizers are still hunting for more vendors to participate in the market. Those interested can apply online here.
