BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — Rapper Biz Markie will perform in Bed-Stuy this summer as part of a series of free concerts hosted by the City Parks Foundation.
Performance arts festival SummerStage brings the “Just a Friend” artist and Brownsville lyricist Masta Ace to Herbert Von King Park on June 17.
The two will hit the stage in collaboration with hip-hop showcase Lyricist Lounge, according to an announcement from the CPF.
The event is one of several planned for the park, which will also host Zulu Nation’s DJ Lord Yoda on June 18 and Brooklyn dancer Karisma Jay on June 19.
The series finishes off at Von King with the June 20 screening of “They Die by Dawn,” a black cowboy western featuring Erykah Badu, Rosario Dawson, and Isaiah Washington.
SummerStage celebrates its 30th season this year and will highlight nearly 200 artists across parks throughout the five boroughs.
