14 Subway Lines Affected by Service Changes This Weekend

NEW YORK CITY— Planned service changes will affect 14 subway lines this weekend.

Here's the breakdown:

1 Train:

1 trains won’t run north of 96th Street in either direction starting on Friday at 11:30 p.m. until Monday at 4 a.m. Use A or C trains or free shuttle buses that will travel between 96th Street and 168th Street. M3 and M100 bus service is also available

Free shuttle buses will also run into The Bronx from the last stop on the A train to Van Cortlandt Park-242nd Street.

3 Train:

3 trains won’t run between Franklin Avenue and New Lots Avenue in Brooklyn from 6:30 a.m. Saturday to midnight Sunday. Use 4 trains and free shuttle buses instead. Free shuttle buses will run between Crown Heights-Utica Avenue and New Lots Avenue making all the stops the 3 train usually makes. 4 trains will run local between Franklin Avenue and Crown Heights-Utica Avenue all weekend.  

4 Train:

Brooklyn-bound 4 trains will run express between 125 Street and Grand Central Station and Bronx-bound 4 trains will run express between 14th Street and Grand Central from 11:45 p.m. on Friday until 6:30 a.m. Sunday, and again from 11:45 p.m. Sunday until 5:00 a.m. Monday morning.

In Brooklyn, 4 train service is suspended in both directions between Crown Heights-Utica Avenue and New Lots Avenue. Free shuttle buses provide service for all skipped stops.

5 Train:

5 trains will only run every 20 minutes starting at 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Saturday and from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Sunday between Eastchester-Dyre Avenue and Bowling Green.

6 Trains:

Southbound 6 trains run express from 125 Street to Grand Central Station- 42nd Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday until 5:00 a.m. on Monday morning. Northbound 6 trains run express from 14th Street Union Square to Grand Central-42nd Street.

6 trains will continue to skip Zerega Avenue and Buhre Avenue until further notice. Use the Bx4 or shuttle buses to connect between Zerega Avenue and Castle Hill Avenue. Use the Bx8 and Bx24 or shuttle buses to connect between Buhre Avenue and Middletown Road.

A Train:

A trains won’t run between Rockaway Boulevard and Ozone Park-Lefferts Boulevard in Queens from 11:45 p.m. on Friday until 5:00 a.m. on Sunday morning. Free shuttle buses will provide alternate service.

Howard Beach/Far Rockaway-bound A trains are also skipping 88 Street.

A trains will continue to skip Rockaway Boulevard on their way east in Queens until this summer. For service to this station, take the Far Rockaway-bound A train to Aqueduct-North Conduit Avenue or the Lefferts Blvd.-bound A train to 104 Street and transfer to a Brooklyn-bound A.  For service from this station take the Brooklyn-bound A train to 88 Street and transfer to a Far Rockaway or Lefferts Blvd-bound A train.

D Train:

Northbound D trains will run express from 145th Street to Tremont Avenue from 11:45 p.m. Friday until 11:59 p.m. Saturday.

Manhattan-Bound D trains will be rerouted on the N line from Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue to 36th Street in Brooklyn starting at 3:45 a.m. Saturday until 10:00 p.m. Sunday.

E Train:

In Queens, eastbound E trains will run express between Queens Plaza and Forest Hills-71st Avenue from 12:15 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. Saturday and Sunday and from 12:15 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. Monday Morning.

Eastbound E trains in Queens will skip 75th Avenue and Van Wyck Boulevard from 12:15 a.m. Saturday, until 5:00 a.m. Monday. To get to either of those stops ride past the stop and switch at the next one to a Manhattan-bound E that will stop at those stations.

World Trade Center-bound E trains will run local from Forest Hills-71st Avenue to Roosevelt Avenue from 12:30 a.m. on Saturday until 5:00 a.m. on Monday.

F Train:

In Queens, eastbound F trains skip 75th Avenue, Briarwood-Van Wyck Boulevard and Sutphin Boulevard from 10:45 p.m. on Friday until 5:00 a.m. on Monday.

In Queens westbound trains will run local from Forest Hills-71st Avenue to Roosevelt Avenue, from 12:30 a.m. Saturday until 5:00 a.m. Monday.

J Train:

J trains headed east will run express from Myrtle Avenue to Broadway Junction from 5:45 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

L Train:

L trains aren’t running between Lorimer Street and 8th Avenue in either direction starting at 11:30 p.m. Friday until 5:00 a.m. on Monday morning. L trains are running normally between Lorimer Street and Rockaway Parkway.

Shuttle buses will run between Lorimer Street and the Broadway G station making stops at the Bedford Avenue, Marcy Avenue J and M stop and the Hewes Street J and M stop.

M14A buses provide alternate service along 14th Street between 8th Avenue and 1st Avenue.

M Train:

M service is extended to the 57 St F line station, from 6:30 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. Saturday and from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Sunday.

Q Train:

Manhattan-bound Q trains run express from Kings Highway to Prospect Park, from 10:45 p.m. Friday, to 5:00 a.m. Monday.

R Train:

East-bound R trains in Queen run express from Queens Plaza to Forest Hills-71st Avenue from 6:30 a.m. to midnight Saturday and Sunday.
