QUEENS — A fast food worker fought off an armed robber, holding off the gunman until he gave up and ran away, dramatic security video released by police shows.

The attempted robbery is the latest in a string of restaurant and a gas station stickups since January, police said.

The most recent attack took place on March 17 at 10 p.m. at a Subway sandwich shop located at 219-25 North Conduit Ave. in Springfield Gardens.

Video shows the masked gunman holding his weapon to an employee's head while the other worker grabs the bandit's arm to prevent his coworker from getting shot.

The suspect fled the scene on foot without stealing any cash.

In two earlier incidents, the suspects hit another Queens Subway and a gas station stealing $1,000 in cash.

On Jan. 1 at 9:20 p.m., one thief put a gun to an employee's head and another pinned a second employee to the ground at a Subway at 127-02 Merrick Blvd. in Jamaica. The two ran off with $500 in cash.

Two days later on Jan. 3, the pair struck a Mobil gas station at 181-05 Horace Harding Expressway, flashed a gun at a worker there and made off with another $500.

No one was injured during any of the robberies, police said.

Workers at Subway declined to comment on the incident and no one from the gas station who was there during the robbery could not be reached for comment.

Police are asking for help identifying the men in the video.
