THE BRONX — A teen had arrived to a first date with a woman he'd met through an online dating site only to find she was actually a Taser-wielding man who then stole his iPhone 6, police said.

The 18-year-old, whose name was not immediately released, went to an apartment on East 181st Street about 8:30 p.m. on March 25, to meet a woman he found on Backpage.com, an NYPD spokesman said.

Police withheld a cross street for the location because of privacy concerns.

The 18-year-old knocked on the apartment door and was then met by the suspect who whipped out a Taser and stole the teen's phone, police said. It was not immediately clear if the suspect had been waiting inside the apartment or hallway.

The suspect, who then fled the scene, had set up a fake profile posing as a woman, NYPD officials said.

Investigators released his photo which they found in a seperate profile on the same site, officials said.

Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
