MANHATTAN — A pedestrian was struck by an SUV taxi and seriously hurt in the Upper East Side Friday morning, witnesses and officials said.

The woman, whose age was not immediately released, was crossing west over Second Avenue as the cab made a left from East 77th Street to head south on the avenue, but hit her about 7:52 a.m., according to witnesses and an FDNY spokesman.

She was taken to New York—Presbyterian hospital in serious condition, the spokesman said.

She appeared to be conscious after getting hit, according to a worker at a nearby Le Pain Quotidien.

An NYPD spokesman said he did not immediately have further information.
