13 Subway Lines Slated for Service Changes This Weekend

MIDTOWN—It was snowing on the first day of spring, but we can expect some sunny skies this weekend with temperatures back in the 50s. With 13 subway lines slated for service changes it may be a good time to take advantage of the strolling weather .

Here is your breakdown per line:

1 Line: Uptown trains will run express from 96th Street to 137th Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. For local service riders can take an uptown train to 137th Street and and transfer to a downtown train.

Downtown trains will run express from Van Cortlandt Park-242nd Street to 215th Street from 3:45 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday. For local service riders can take the Bx9.

Trains will run every 16 minutes between 137th Street and 242nd Street from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday. The last stop for some uptown 1 trains will be 137th Street.

4 Line: Uptown trains run express from Grand Central to 125th Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Sunday and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Downtown trains will run local from Grand Central to Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall from 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday.

5 Line: Downtown trains will run local from Grand Central to Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday. Trains will run every 20 minutes.

6 Line: Uptown trains will run express from Grand Central to 125th Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Downtown trains will run express from Pelham Bay Park to Parkchester from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

At all times until spring 2015, 6 trains will skip Zerega Avenue and Buhre Avenue. For service to and from Zerega Avenue, use the Bx4. Shuttle buses connecting Zerega Avenue and Castle Hill Avenue will also be in service. Free transfer will be available with MetroCard.

For service to and from Buhre Avenue, use the Bx8, Bx24 or shuttle buses to connect between Buhre Avenue and Middletown Road. Free transfer will be available with a MetroCard.

7 Line: There will be no service between Times Square and Hunters Point Avenue in Queens from 2:15 a.m. Saturday to 4:30 a.m. Monday. Riders can use the E, F, N and Q lines for service between Manhattan and Queens. The 42nd Street Shuttle will also run overnight.

Free shuttle buses will also operated between Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Avenue and Queensboro Plaza.

Flushing-bound trains will run express from Queensboro Plaza to 74th Street-Broadway from 3:45 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday. For local service riders can take a Flushing-bound train to 61st Street-Woodside or 74th Street-Broadway and transfer to a Hunters Point-bout train.

A Line: Uptown trains will run express from Canal Street to 59th Street-Columbus Circle 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6:30 a.m. Sunday and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Service will be suspended in both directions between Ozone Park-Lefferts Boulevard and Rockaway Boulevard from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. Free shuttle buses will provide service along 80th Street.

Far Rockaway-bound trains will skip 88th Street. For service to 88th Street, riders can take the A to 80th Street and transfer to a free shuttle bus. For service from 88th Street toward the Rockaways, take a Brooklyn-bound A to 80th Street and transfer to a Far Rockaway-bound train.

Far Rockaway-Ozone Park-Lefferts Boulevard-bound trains will skip Rockaway Boulevard at all times until Summer 2015. 

For service to this station, take a Far Rockaway-bound A train to Aqueduct-North Conduit Avenue or a Lefferts Boulevard-bound A train to 104th Street and transfer to a Brooklyn-bound A train. 

For service from this station, take a Brooklyn-bound A train to 88th Street and transfer to Far Rockaway or Lefferts Boulevard-bound A.

C Line: Uptown trains will run express from Canal Street to 59th Street-Columbus Circle from 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

E Line: Uptown trains will run express from Canal Street to 34th Street-Penn Station from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Manhattan-bound trains will run local from Forest Hills-71st Avenue to Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Avenue from 11 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

D Line: Trains will run local in both directions between West 4th Street-Washington Square and 34th Street-Herald Square from 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Manhattan-bound trains will run local from 36th Street in Brooklyn to Dekalb Avenue from 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday.

F Line: Manhattan-bound trains will run local from Forest Hills-71st Avenue to Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Avenue from 11 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Downtown trains will skip Lexington Avenue-63rd Street from 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Jamaica-bound trains will skip 75th Avenue, Van Wyck Boulevard and Sutphin Boulevard from 10:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Coney Island-bound trains will runs express from Smith-9th Streets to Avenue X from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 10 p.m. Sunday.

N Line: Manhattan-bound trains will run local from 59th Street in Brooklyn to Dekalb Avenue from 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Q Line: Service will be extended to Astoria-Ditmars Boulevard from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.

Manhattan-bound trains will run express from Kings Highway to Prospect Park from 5:45 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

42nd Shuttle: Service will operate overnight from 12:01 a.m. to 6 a.m. Saturday to Monday.
