HELL'S KITCHEN — A teen was arrested after he brought a loaded gun to his Manhattan high school Friday morning, police said.
Matthew Dallas-Fields, 16, was seen by School Safety Agent Michele Pitre putting a female student's hand on his waistband around 10:00 a.m. inside High School of the Environmental Studies, 444 W. 56th St., police said.
Pietre and two other officers found Dallas-Fields and brought him to a secure area of the school where they found a .32 caliber revolver inside his waistband, police said.
Dallas-Fields was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon by police.
"The safety of our students is of paramount importance. Police were immediately notified of this situation," a Department of Education spokesman said.
