Gun Held to Man's Throat in South Williamsburg Robbery, NYPD Says

SOUTH WILLIAMSBURG — A man was robbed with a gun to his throat in South Williamsburg last Friday, police said.

The victim, 29, was walking east on South First Street near Hooper Street around 3:10 a.m. on Friday, March 13 when two men approached him, police said.

One of the men flashed a gun and placed it against the victim's stomach, police said. The other man reached for the victim's property, saying "Give it up, I want everything," police said.

The man with the gun then placed it against the victim's throat, police said.

The men took $220 worth of property, including a cracked black iPhone, $50, a wallet, a credit card and a debit card, police said.

They ran south on Hooper Street and unsuccessfully tried to make purchases worth $1,400 and $930 at Flight Club, a sneaker store at 812 Broadway, police said. It wasn't clear why the purchases did not go through.

One man was described as a 20 years old, 6 feet tall and 185 pounds. The other man was about 20 years old, 5-foot-9 and 140 pounds.

Police are investigating the incident.

Other notable incidents in the 90th precinct include:

► A man was robbed of his Spider-Man wallet, phone and concealed carry permit for Virginia after two men put him in a chokehold, police said.

The man, 28, was walking on Lorimer Street near Meserole Street around 4 a.m. on Wednesday, March 11 when the two men came up behind him, police said.

One of the men put his arm around the victim's neck while the other one took property from his pockets, police said.

One of the men said, "Empty your pockets, or I'll kill you," police said.

The men ran off with $323 worth of property, including the Spider-Man wallet, $3, an iPhone 4S, a flashlight, credit cards and a concealed carry permit for Virginia.

No weapon was displayed, and the victim was not injured. No one has been arrested for the incident.

► A man who parked his U-Haul on the street got stuck in an elevator and returned to find that his property was gone, police said.

The man, 25, parked on Maujer Street near Morgan Avenue around 1:20 p.m. on Friday, March 13, police said. He ended up getting stuck in an elevator and needed to be rescued by the fire department, police said.

When he came back to the truck, more than $1,600 worth of property was gone, including a Lenovo laptop, $500 in cash, a Herschel duffel bag, a black leather jacket and a classic iPod.

Police are investigating the incident.

► A man returned to his parked minivan to find another man sitting in it, with a laptop plugged into the car's computer, police said.

The man, 25, left his $25,000 2013 Honday Odyssey minivan on South Eighth Street near Roebling Street on Friday, March 13 at 2 a.m., police said. When he returned after 8 a.m., a man was sitting in the van with the laptop, police said.

The victim knocked on the window, the man started the car and drove off. The man said his car had been locked and the keys were not inside.

No one has been arrested for the incident.

► A man returned home to see a man who stole $1,000, leaving the apartment through his roommate's window, police said.

The man returned home Sunday, March 8 before 9 p.m. and heard a noise from his roommate's room, who he knew wasn't home, police said. A man, who was about 20 years old and 5-foot-8, was standing on the dresser, leaving through the window at the back the apartment, police said.

The man saw that his laundry bag was in the living room with three laptops, a PlayStation 4, a 42-inch flat screen TV and several jackets left untouched by the thief, police said. One roommate, a 25-year-old male, had $1,000 missing. It was unclear if the money belonged to the roommate whose room the thief was in.

No one has been arrested for the incident.
