LONG ISLAND CITY — A man slugged a construction worker in the face at a 10th Street construction site before running off with his tools earlier this month, police said.

The suspect walked up to the 29-year-old man at the Euda Construction and Design site at 37-27 10th St., near 37th Avenue, on about 2 p.m. March 12 and attacked him, NYPD officials said.

The attacker then ran off with the worker's camera, drill and two nail guns, police said.

The worker suffered swelling and redness on his face, but was not hospitalized, NYPD officials said.

The suspect, who was caught on surveillance video from the scene pushing a wheeled cart, is about 6 feet tall and 200 pounds, according to the NYPD.

He wore a black hat, blue jeans and a brown coat, police said.

The construction company did not immediately respond to a call for comment.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
