BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — The owners of a popular Gowanus eatery are opening a new spot in Bed-Stuy with a focus on farm-to-table small plates.

Nestled near the overpass of the Franklin Avenue shuttle, Willow will be a neighborhood spot for families and locals to grab snacks and drinks, said co-owner Carver Farrell.

Farrell, who opened The Pines in 2012, brings on the American restaurant’s executive chef John Poiarkoff as a partner in the new venture.

The 30-seat eatery is slated to open its doors on April 2 with pickings including pork rillettes, chicken liver cannoli with compressed apples, and dishes like local fish, 45-day dry-aged strip loin and pork jowl. Appetizers are priced up to $12, while entrees start at $14.

Farrell, Poiarkoff and the Gowanus team were recently featured on the Bravo reality show “Best New Restaurant,” taking home the competition's “Viewer’s Choice" title.

The owners hope to build on the momentum and “write the next chapter” of the business with Willow, according to Farrell.

Exposed beams and brick walls along with a marble bar and walnut tables will bring a more modern vibe to 506 Franklin Ave. compared to The Pines’ rustic feel.

The restaurant is also partnering with Star Route Farm to host a pick-up spot for a Community Supported Agriculture program.

Willow will be open from Tuesdays through Sundays, 5:30 p.m to 11 p.m.

Other openings in the neighborhood:

► Amadeus Broger, partner in NoHo bistro Le Philosophe, brings some French flair to Bed-Stuy with L'Antagoniste.

The restaurant at 238 Malcolm X Blvd. started serving frog legs and duck a l'orange on March 13 and also offers an impressive wine list, including a $2000 Bordeaux.

► Calabar Imports has found a permanent home at 351 Tompkins Ave., officially opening for business on March 12.

Owner Atim Annette Oton formerly operated a pop-up version of the shop last winter at the same location and has expanded the boutique’s offerings with a children’s bookstore and future coffee bar.

The 750-square-foot space offers a new collection of modern African clothing, jewelry and home décor, and will also host local workshops and artists.

The Bed-Stuy branch joins Calabar’s two other stores in Boerum Hill and Crown Heights. The shop is open Thursday through Monday, 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
