QUEENS — A man caught molesting a 6-year-old girl on an MTA bus in Rego Park was in police custody Friday, officials said.
Police responded to a call just before 2 p.m. on Friday and boarded the Q53 bus that was pulled over at Woodhaven Boulevard and 63rd Drive, officials said. Passengers on the bus told police they had seen the man rubbing the young girls private parts over her clothes.
The man was the young girl's chaperone, police said, though they are still questioning the man and have yet to name or charge him.
Emergency workers rushed the child to East Elmhurst General Hospital for evaluation and her condition was not known by police.
