LOWER EAST SIDE — Police arrested a man for picking up a wooden chair and slamming it to the ground on Orchard Street, "creating a dangerous and hazardous condition for pedestrians," the NYPD said.

Sean Cynamon, 25, was arrested on March 7 after an officer witnessed the incident, which took place on near Delancey Street at 1:14 p.m. that day, according to the NYPD.

The destruction made “a loud noise” that caused “wooden pieces and shards to break away and fly into the air," according to a criminal complaint from the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.

Cynamon was charged with disorderly conduct, according to the DA’s office. He accepted an adjournment in contemplation of dismissal on March 8, allowing his case to be dismissed if he is not arrested again in the next six months.

Cynamon’s attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Other recent crimes in the 7th Precinct include:

► Police arrested a 20-year-old woman a 16-year-old girl earlier this week for stealing a woman’s cell phones and wallet after they attacked her, according to the NYPD.

Police said Idaia James and the teen, who was not identified because she was a minor, entered the 22-year-old victim’s apartment at The Lee, a home for homeless and disabled people at 133 Pitt St., uninvited on Jan. 17 at 3:35 p.m. and stayed despite her objections, police said.

James and the teenager threatened to harm the victim if she didn’t go to the store to buy food and other supplies, police said. The victim told authorities she was beaten in the knees with a frying pan and punched in the head, according to the NYPD.

The pair then stole a Metro PCS Samsung cellphone worth $120, an LG Boost phone worth $100 and the woman’s $5 wallet, as well as her ID, benefit card, Social Security card and house key, police said.

James was arrested on March 10 and charged with assault, petit larceny, attempted assault and harassment, according to the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office. She was released on her own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court on April 20, the DA's office said.

Her lawyer and Common Ground — the organization that owns and manages The Lee — did not immediately return requests for comment.

The teen was arrested on March 11, according to police. Further information about her arrest was not immediately available.

► A woman struck an employee of The Whiskey Ward with a glass bottle on March 8 at 3:55 a.m., police said. The alleged assault occurred after the victim, 33, asked her to leave the Essex Street bar. The attack resulted in a “minor laceration,” according to the NYPD.

The woman fled the scene with three men, one of whom left a sneaker at the bar, according to the NYPD. Police described the woman as standing 5-foot-7 and weighing 130 pounds with long hair.

The Whiskey Ward declined to comment.
