MIDTOWN — A traffic agent was injured while writing a ticket when a van skidded on an ice patch and bumped into the car she was citing, witnesses said.

The traffic agent, whose name was not released, was putting a $65 ticket for failing to pay the muni meter on a yellow delivery truck's windshield when another van lost control and slid into the truck at 1020 Broadway about 10:20 a.m. on Friday, according to witnesses.

"I was coming down the street and I hit an ice patch and I just slid," the driver of the white van, which was marked "URIU brklyn navy yard," told DNAinfo. He refused to give his name.

Witnesses said the white van slammed into the rear of a yellow delivery truck, which belongs to Touba Mbacke Trading, just as the traffic agent was placing a ticket on its windshield.

"(The driver of the white van) lost control of his truck, he went right, left, right, left and then boom into the yellow truck" said Rich Yeboah, who witnessed the accident.

The collision threw the agent to the ground, according to the driver of the delivery truck, Modou Fall, who was standing near the truck at the time.

"I talked to her after the accident and she said she was okay," said Fall, who has been a delivery truck driver for 19 years. "I am very lucky I wasn't in the back of the truck."

The traffic agent was transferred to Bellevue Hospital, according to FDNY. Her condition was not immediately known but police officers at the scene said she was conscious after the accident.

No one else was reported injured, officials said.
