UPPER WEST SIDE — Bloomingdale's will open a discount outlet store in the space currently home to Urban Outfitters at Broadway and West 72nd Street, the company announced Thursday.

The retailer will open a three-story outlet in the 25,000-square-foot property, offering "off-price" clothes and accessories for women, men and children, as well as women's shoes, jewelry, handbags and intimates, Bloomingdale's said in a statement.

The outlet, set to open in the fall, will mark the retail giant's 14th such space in the country.

DNAinfo first reported on Urban Outfitters moving from its 2085 Broadway location in early February, in addition to the closure of Burberry and Ann Taylor Loft.

The news of Bloomingdale's opening was first reported by the Commercial Observer.

Bloomingdale’s CEO Tony Spring said he sees the outlet as a "growth vehicle" for the department store.

“This is a great opportunity to expand the reach of our brand to value-conscious customers as well as better serve the expansive needs of our core west side customers," he said in the statement.
