LOWER MANHATTAN — Two years after taking the helm of Manhattan's 1st Precinct, commanding officer Brendan Timoney is heading north.

The captain has been transferred to the 13th Precinct, which covers Gramercy and surrounding neighborhoods. The 1st Precinct tweeted about the change in leadership Thursday morning.

The new head of the 1st Precinct, which covers a square mile that includes Lower Manhattan, SoHo and Hudson Square, is Capt. Mark Iocco.

Iocco was most recently the executive officer of the Midtown North Precinct.

The 1st Precinct and the NYPD did not immediately return requests for comment about the new leadership.

Timoney, who's been with the NYPD for 17 years, was the executive officer of East Village's 9th Precinct before taking the top spot at the 1st Precinct.
