CHELSEA — An intoxicated man walked into the 10th Precinct police station and told police his pot dealer slashed him in the face with a box cutter when he tried to buy weed, according to the NYPD.
The 34-year-old man, whose name was not released, told police he went to purchase marijuana from a man nicknamed “Africa" at 3:15 p.m. on March 1 in Chelsea. A dispute broke out during the transaction and the dealer slashed the victim across the right cheek with a box cutter, authorities said.
The victim was intoxicated and unsure of the exact address the attack took place, police said. He was taken to Lenox Hill Hospital.
“Africa” is described as 5-foot-9 and 35 years old with close cut hair.
Other recent crimes in the 10th Precinct include:
► A customer attacked a female Citibank security guard near the Port Authority bus station, repeatedly using racial slurs and punching her in the face when she told him to stop, according to the NYPD.
On March 1 at 1:15 p.m., the 42-year-old guard, whose name was not released, was working in the ATM area of the Citibank at 401 W. 42nd St. when a man walked in and mumbled something to her, police said.
He then used the ATM, according to police, and then turned to her and called her “a n——-.”
She told him not to use the word, but he repeated it several times as he approached her, police said. She put her hand up to stop him from getting too close, NYPD said.
He then punched her in the face and continued to call her racial slurs before threatening to sue the woman, police said.
The man then left the bank and walked southbound on Ninth Avenue. The victim had a swollen left cheek and was in pain, the NYPD said.
Police are looking for the man, described as 40 years old, 6 foot tall and 180 lbs, with blonde close-cut hair. He was wearing a tan top coat and brown shoes.
Citibank did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
► A 27-year-old woman said a security guard assaulted her at the Dream Hotel on February 28 at 9:30 p.m., police said. He pushed her to the ground and grabbed her wrists, causing bruises to wrist and knee, according to authorities. The Dream Hotel did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
►An 18-year-old man's black and red retro Air Jordans, worth $200, were stolen as he was bringing bags into his room at the Holiday Inn Express on West 29th Street, police said. The victim was moving bags into his room and forgot two outside the door, according to NYPD. When he remembered them, they were gone, police said. Holiday Inn Express did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
