MANHATTAN — A person was run over by a northbound 1 train in Hamilton Heights Friday morning, an FDNY spokesman said.

The person, whose identity was not immediately released, was trapped beneath the train after being run over about 8:25 a.m. inside the 137th Street-City College station near Broadway, FDNY and MTA officials said.

They were taken to St. Luke's hospital, officials said. Their condition was unknown.

Northbound 1 trains were briefly suspended but resumed regular service about 9 a.m., officials said.

Commuters should check the MTA's website for service updates.
