LOWER MANHATTAN — A U-Haul driver with a suspended license led Port Authority police on a footchase through SoHo Wednesday, officials said.

Travon Barrow, 23, of Brooklyn, was driving his U-Haul along Watts Street at about 3 p.m. when Port Authority police pulled him over because he ignored signs directing trucks onto Canal Street.

While an officer checked Barrow's driver's license, which turned out to have been suspended four separate times, he jumped out of the truck and began running down Canal Street, then turned onto Greenwich Street, police said.

A PA officer, joined by PA detectives who happened to be in the area, chased Barrow down, following him into a construction site at 15 Renwick St. where Barrow tried to jump a concrete wall.

"You got me," Barrow told the arresting officers, adding that he was worried he'd be arrested because of the license suspension.

The Department of Motor Vehicles did not immediately return a request for information about Barrow's license suspensions.

Barrow was charged with resisting arrest and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, Port Authority police said. A call to his Legal Aid attorney was not immediately returned.
