ASTORIA — An international chain restaurant that specializes in Korean fried chicken will open its first outpost in the neighborhood this spring.

Bonchon, which has New York locations in Manhattan and Bayside, has a "coming soon" sign in the window of the storefront at 25-30 Broadway between 29th and Crescent streets. Blog We Heart Astoria first reported the news.

The company confirmed the expansion on Twitter recently, saying the Astoria location will open by spring. An email to Bonchon was not immediately returned.

The restaurant serves fried chicken wings, drumsticks and strips in two kinds of sauce, according to the menu on its website. Other dishes include edamame, shumai and bibimbop.
