MANHATTAN — A man was slashed across the face with a box cutter outside a Sixth Avenue deli early Saturday morning, police said.

The 41-year-old man, whose name was not released, was arguing with another man inside Manhattan Gourmet Deli, 1377 Sixth Ave., near West 56th Street, minutes after midnight but then they took the argument outside. The second man slashed the 41-year-old above his left eye, NYPD officials said.

The suspect fled, heading south on Sixth Avenue and then west on West 55th Street, police said. He was at large Monday morning, police said.

The victim was treated at Roosevelt Hospital and released, police said.

The suspect can be seen in surveillance photos released by police wearing a dark beanie with what appears to be a jacket emblazoned with the logo for the Cincinnati Reds baseball team.
