CROWN HEIGHTS — A new coffee shop with “Latin-influenced” dishes is coming to Crown Heights, its owner said.

Colina Cuervo is under construction on Nostrand Avenue near St. Johns Place, the former location of Syd’s Serious Sandwich Shop. Owner Jorge Salamea hopes to open “in the next month or so,” he said.

“The menu will consist of Latin-influenced dishes like baked empanadas and traditional Ecuadorian and Colombian breakfast dishes,” he said in an email.

The shop will serve Counter Culture coffee and other goodies from Salamea’s “favorite local places,” he said, though the exact menu and hours of operation are still being determined.

The new eatery joins several new places to eat and drink opening soon on Nostrand Avenue, including Two Saints, a soon-to-open coffee shop and bar located a few doors down from Colina; Breukelen Brasserie, a French restaurant under construction on Prospect Place; and King Tai Bar, a watering hole set to open this month on Bergen Street off the avenue.

Colina Cuervo is located at 759 Nostrand Ave. For more information, follow the cafe on Twitter (@ColinaCuervo) or visit its website.
