UPPER WEST SIDE — Police are looking for a man who racked up charges on credit cards he swiped from a pair of women's purses while they were at an Amsterdam Avenue Thai restaurant last year.

The suspect targeted the victims on two separate visits to Land Thai Kitchen, near West 82nd Street, in September, the NYPD said.

In the first incident, on Sept. 14 about 12:55 p.m., the man reached into a 29-year-old woman's purse and stole her wallet, later using her credit cards to make various purchases, police said.

He then returned to the eatery on Sept. 30 and stole a 47-year-old women's purse when she went to the restroom about 7:30 p.m., using her credit cards to run up charges at a local drugstore, according to the NYPD.

Police did not say how much was charged to the cards.

The suspect is described as a 20- to 25-year-old man, standing between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-10, and weighing between 220 and 240 pounds, the NYPD said. He was wearing a black T-shirt emblazoned with red writing on the front, blue jeans, a red sweatshirt around his waist and tattoos on his left arm, police added.

"Though we want everyone to feel comfortable and safe when they come to Land Thai we have a small staff and unfortunately can not keep our eyes on everything," said a manager, who did not want to give her full name. "We now advise our customers, especially those sitting outside, to please keep an eye on their belongings since they are next to high traffic areas."
