QUEENS — A Long Island man succumbed to his injuries last Wednesday after a car struck him on North Conduit Avenue near JFK earlier in the month, according to the NYPD.

Marco Orellana, 48, from Bellmore was crossing North Conduit Avenue near Cranston Street at about 11:50 p.m. on Feb. 4 when a 32-year-old man driving a minivan west on the avenue struck him, a preliminary investigation found.

After hitting Orellana the minivan driver then rear-ended a parked, unoccupied SUV with a trailer attached, according to police.

Orellana was taken to Jamaica Hospital in critical condition, where he died on Feb. 11.

The driver remained on the scene and has not been charged in the death.

The investigation is ongoing.
