MANHATTAN — A 22-year-old man was fatally shot in the chest in East Harlem's Jefferson Houses early Monday, police said.
Donte Saunders was gunned down in a fourth-floor hallway at 2055 Third Ave., near East 115th Street, minutes after midnight, according to the NYPD.
Saunders, of Soundview in The Bronx, was pronounced dead at Metropolitan Hospital, police said.
No one was immediately arrested, an NYPD spokeswoman said.
An NYPD spokeswoman was unable to provide information regarding the circumstances of the shooting or any description of the suspect.
