LOWER EAST SIDE — A man knocked a woman to the ground during a violent robbery that was caught on video on the Lower East Side last month, stealing her purse, iPhone 5 and other belongings, according to the NYPD.

Police said the woman was walking on Hester Street near Essex Street around 4:20 a.m. when the man came up behind her, pushed her down and snatched her bag.

The woman struggled with him, falling to the ground several times as she fought to hold on to her bag despite his attempts to rip it free from her grip, according to the video.

“Just let it go ma,” the thief told the woman as she resisted, according to the NYPD.

He eventually pulled away with the $80 brown purse and fled on Hester Street towards Ludlow Street, police said.

Police said the woman refused medical attention at the scene.

In addition to her phone and cash, the bag contained the woman’s debit and credit cards, police said.

The suspect was last seen wearing a green snorkel jacket, according to the NYPD.
