MIDTOWN — A Bronx man was arrested for slapping a police horse on the rear end in Times Square Tuesday, according to the NYPD and a criminal complaint.

Victor Flores, 32, was walking alongside the horse at Seventh Avenue and West 47th Street at about 9:30 p.m. when he smacked the animal's rear, causing it lurch forward, an NYPD spokesman said.

The mounted officer was able to stay on the animal and keep it from running out of control into a crowd of about 40 people.

During his arrest, police searched Flores and found a bag of cocaine in his right pant pocket, according to court papers.

Flores was charged with disorderly conduct and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

He was released without bail.

Flores's lawyer could not immediately be reached for comment.
