CHELSEA — A new documentary follows a group of 70- to 90-year-olds who decide to take up speed dating.

"The Age of Love," by Park Slope resident Steven Loring, is set in his hometown of  Rochester, N.Y., and will show at a series of community events throughout the city just in time for Valentine's Day.

Loring told DNAinfo New York he set out to learn whether "our hearts are more or less capable of finding love" later in life.

"What do we want when we’re older," he asked, "and is it different than what we want when we’re younger?"

The Wednesday screening at Senior Planet Exploration Center in Chelsea sold out in hours, Loring told DNAinfo. Screenings are planned for Thursday, Feb. 12 at 2 p.m. at the Dreiser Loop Community Center in The Bronx, according to the schedule, and simultaneously on Friday the 13th at the New School and in Astoria at 1 p.m.

Loring said he thought the daters might be embarrassed or camera-shy, but for the most part they were glad to discuss their intimate desires.

"From their point of view, what do they have to lose?" he said. "They feel invisible."
