BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — A Bed-Stuy sneaker shop is kicking off its first speaking series this week with actor and director Michael Rapaport.

The “Boston Public” and “Prison Break” star will hold a Q&A at Michael Jordan-themed boutique Jordan Heads Brooklyn on Wednesday to share his love for basketball, sneaker culture and film.

The event is part of “Flight School,” a new series inviting actors, designers, and celebrities to speak about their careers, lifestyles and infatuation with Michael Jordan and his ubiquitous brand.

“The individuals will run the gamut, but it all comes back to the sneaker,” said Jordan Heads owner Calvan Fowler. “I didn’t want this to just be a run-of-the-mill sneaker store — it’s a destination, it’s a culture. We want to create a community of like-minded people in an intimate setting.

“For our first speaker, it just made sense with Michael," Fowler continued. "He was executive producer for the ‘Jordan Heads’ documentary, so he was perfect.”

Rapaport is expected to discuss rap music, his children’s love for Air Jordans and “When the Garden was Eden,” his documentary on the New York Knicks’ championship runs in the 1970s.

The event comes ahead of Rapaport’s return to the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game at Madison Square Garden on Friday. In 2010, the actor won the Most Valuable Player title for his defense against football player Terrell Owens.

Wednesday’s “Flight School” program will begin at 7 p.m. at 302 Malcolm X Blvd., Brooklyn. Seating is limited and on a first come, first served basis. Refreshments will be provided following the Q&A.
