SHEEPSHEAD BAY — Eight pups in what appeared to be doggie sweaters were rescued from a bedroom in an abandoned building, police officials said.

Officers from the 61st Precinct responded to reports of a burglary at 1818 Ocean Parkway Monday morning, when they encountered the dogs.

The NYPD announced the lucky find on Twitter.

Officers turned the dogs over to Animal Control and Care of NYC on Linden Boulevard in East New York.

The dogs were being evaluated by veterinarians, a spokeswoman for ACCNYC said.

It was unclear where they got their sweaters.
