MANHATTAN — A man fatally shot himself in the head at the Thurgood Marshall federal courthouse in Lower Manhattan early Thursday, officials said.
The man, who police said worked in the building, was pronounced dead in the 40 Centre St. courthouse, near Reade Street, about 5:20 a.m., FDNY and NYPD officials said.
The man used his own gun to kill himself, a police spokesman said.
It was not immediately clear where in the building the worker shot himself or what position he held in the court.
