VIDEO: Men in Bodysuits Bring MTA Subway Etiquette Campaign to Life

By Gwynne Hogan | January 20, 2015 1:29pm

NEW YORK — The MTA's etiquette campaign has come to life in a new video.

Taking a cue from the transit agency's new Courtesy Counts posters, Christian CJ Koegel donned a red body suit and his buddy Chris Zelig put on a green one to act out "manspreading," subway pole dancing and blocking the doorways, the pair told the Village Voice.

"We think the campaign is clever and funny," Koegel, 30 told the Village Voice. "People should have manners and be nice to each other."

In a series of brief scenes, the red body suited gently bumbles about committing a series of MTA etiquette faux-pas, while the green suit man scrambles around after him trying to get the first guy to behave.

The red man drops trash, stands too close to the edge of the tracks, slides up and down a subway pole and eats French Fries while "manspreading." The green man comes to the rescue, correcting his counterpart's bothersome habits.

The video went live Jan. 18.
