Pair Steals Wedding Ring From Hotel Room of Man They Already Robbed

CHELSEA — A man and woman robbed a 32-year-old man, then got a key to his room at the Dream Hotel and stole $500 and his wedding ring, the NYPD said.

The couple first robbed the man in the East Village, then headed to the Dream Hotel to take more of his valuables, police said.

The man and woman, who police described as having straight hair and light skin, obtained a key from the front desk and entered the room at 3 a.m. on Friday, according to police.

As of Thursday, the pair had yet to be identified and the ring had yet to be recovered, according to NYPD.

The Dream Hotel did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Other recent crimes in the 10th Precinct include:

► A livery cab backed into a 68-year-old woman while she stepped out onto the street at around 6:05 pm on Saturday, police said.

The woman fell face first into the pavement on the northwest corner of Seventh Avenue and West 23rd Street, according to police, bruising her arms. The gray 2014 Toyota fled the scene.
