GOWANUS — A vehicle was crushed when a large truck backing out of a Gowanus industrial site Tuesday morning slammed into a wall, sending cinder-blocks raining down onto it, witnesses said.

The white pickup truck was parked on the sidewalk near the entrance of the site at 121 12th St., near Second Avenue, when the larger truck clipped the wall and sent it crashing down about 6:15 a.m., witnesses and an FDNY spokesman said.

No one was injured in the collapse, authorities said.

"It's unfortunate, [but] everybody is fine," said a worker at the site who only identified himself as Bob, adding that the pickup came from a construction company. "The truck went back to work already."

After the collapse, the Department of Buildings hit the site with a violation for doing work without a permit for the "illegal masonry wall," records show.
